ABOUT
Shi Ying is an Accredited Dog Trainer (ADT) with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and a Certified Family Dog Mediator (FDM). She is also an AVS-Accredited Dog Trainer (AVS-ACDT).

She is a crossover trainer and her training journey started with her dog Bambi when they were initially introduced to training using confrontational methods such as compulsion. She saw the lasting psychological and emotional impacts, as well as downfalls of such confrontational methods. Bambi had shut down due to the training and this was when she was introduced to reward-based training by her mentor.

Through reward-based training, Shi Ying started to have better communication with Bambi, and this had helped Bambi open up and even progressed to competing in the Obedience Trials organised by The Singapore Kennel Club.
Bambi achieved placings in the Pre-Novice to Intermediate Class.

Shi Ying became a firm believer that no physical or psychological intimidation should be used on the learner through her experiences.

Guided by the LIMA framework, she is committed to helping people understand and communicate effectively with their dogs through reward-based training, and actively continues with pursuing education on the science of canine learning and behaviour.
